We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Program Director to lead our client in the telecommunications Industry’s IT department and drive the successful execution of strategic initiatives. As a Program Director, you will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of projects and ensuring their alignment with the organization’s objectives and business goals. Your role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders, including senior management, project managers, and multi-functional teams, to ensure the efficient delivery of IT projects.

Job Description

You are responsible for the following:

1. Identify key opportunities and challenges in the IT landscape and formulate plans to address them effectively.
2. Manage and prioritize a diverse portfolio of IT and Telecoms projects, taking into account resource availability, budget constraints, and project interdependencies.
3. Engage with key stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and project teams, to understand their requirements, expectations, and feedback.
4. Assess the resource needs for each project within the IT and Telecom portfolio and allocate resources appropriately to ensure optimal project outcomes.
5. Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project success and develop risk mitigation strategies.
6. Collaborate with the finance department to establish and manage the IT program budget.
7. Regularly assess project performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as required.
8. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and employee satisfaction in the IT department.
9. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in the IT field.

Qualifications

• First degree in Computer Science or IT related fields.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years experience in project, program and portfolio management in a dynamic and agile med to large organization
• 2 – 3 years experience as a Program Director (or as a Director) working with senior managers and executives
• Demonstrated track record of successfully managing large-scale IT projects and programs.
• Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with a focus on delivering business value through IT initiatives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Sound understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, cybersecurity, and other relevant technology domains.
• Proven experience in budget management and resource allocation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• ITIL4 Foundation mandatory
• Related ITIL V3 Practitioner Certification is desired
• Project management certifications is mandatory (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
