Internal Auditor

Job Overview

This role will be tasked with ensuring  Internal Audit, Risk Management, Assurance,  and standardization of the functions of the Company; as well as developing processes to ensure adherence to policy, prudent reporting requirements, cost management and internal controls. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop departmental policies, procedures, and systems where necessary.
  • Develop internal control and audit procedures while ensuring compliance with established internal control procedures. 
  • Carry out audits, reviews, and investigations of processes and activities toward risk identification and management.
  • Collaborate with functional teams and departments across the company in order to ensure adherence to company policies, processes, statutory compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Track resolution of all audits, control recommendations and ensure compliance within agreed timelines.
  • Monitor and manage the resolution of all open issues in the Internal Audit Report, External Auditor’s Management Letters, and Regulatory Examiners Report.
  • Carry out regular inspections of all processes, policies, and procedures with a view to ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices as may be prescribed from time to time.
  • Carry out routine inspection of company records and transactions and develop review methodology for compliance and assurance purposes.
  • Carry out staff training geared towards team sensitization and improving company-wide compliance.
  • Prepare and present annual plans and reports to Management and the Board of Directors.
  • Provide Management with the support required for audit assurance. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an audit position within a regulated Financial Institution;
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance;
  • CISA or CFSA certification would be an added advantage;
  • Knowledge of risk, compliance, and audit standards applicable to regulated financial institutions.
  • Working knowledge of regulations and standards applicable to regulated financial institutions in Nigeria.
  • Experience  with accounting, operating, and financial services software;

Product Designer

Job Overview

We are seeking a Product Designer who will have a major impact on shaping the future of our financial products and services for the next billion users in Africa and beyond. You will work closely with our Design, Product, and Engineering teams in Africa as well as with our India and the United States teams. You must be passionate about user experience, design systems, and prototyping in order to deliver a world-class mobile banking experience for millions of customers across the world. Responsibilities

  • Iteratively design, prototype, and test new releases of the Branch app. Develop requirements based on feedback from our customers and internal teams across our global offices.
  • Drive user research initiatives in our various markets. Translate these insights into design concepts and product strategies.
  • Play a key role in forming the product roadmap for our consumer experiences, specifically those interactions with the Branch app, website, and notifications.
  • Support ad-hoc design needs as they arise, such as design for internal tools.

Qualifications

  • You have 3 to 5 years of experience in Product Design, User Research, and/or Interaction Design with a demonstrated ability to design world-class, delightful consumer experiences. 
  • Knowledge of best practices in mobile design for Android is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or other applicable products.
  • You have expertise across the full range of product design skills, from conducting user research to building high-fidelity mockups.

Software Engineering Intern, Nigeria- Remote

About the role

We are looking for talented interns to join us and be part of this journey.

As a software engineering intern, you will work closely with experienced engineers at Branch and make significant contributions to our products and code base for 4-6 months. You will brainstorm, design, code, debug, and ship features serving our millions of customers while picking up skills necessary for your career.

Here are some things you’ll do

  • Contribute to building functionalities for existing and new product lines and platforms such as Credit, Wallet, Payments, KYC, Data Platforms, etc.
  • Integrate with various third-party systems, including payment systems, identity providers, and messaging platforms.

Minimum Requirements

  • Have some experience building Backend or Android applications that are more than just toy projects. Applications that have real users or an open source project would be a great plus.
  • You have a solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, distributed systems, and data storage.
  • Know your way through various flavors of Unix and commonly used command line utilities

Credit and Analytics Lead, Nigeria

In this role, you will help to solve analytical problems across the organization and grow profitability by proposing product and strategy changes. You will make data-driven decisions to optimize performance in various areas across the product, growth, and operations strategy. As the lead, you will help the team achieve their goals through servant-style leadership, removing roadblocks, and clear communication.

Here are some things you’ll do

  • Monitor performance and drive changes in credit policy of our Nigeria portfolio to optimize profitability and reach growth targets
  • Collaborate with data science, product, marketing, collections, and engineering to propose experiments and policy changes
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to identify underlying explanations for changes in portfolio performance, develop data-driven solutions, and evaluate expected portfolio impacts
  • Propose data-driven product changes to improve customer experience and company profitability. Partner with product and engineering teams to implement your solution into production
  • Develop statistical models to assist in pricing and user segmentation for capital markets transactions and financial data analysis

Minimum Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Fluent in SQL and Excel. Proficiency in R/Python, or similar statistical analysis tool, is a plus
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Enthusiasm for working across cultures, functions, and time zones

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous experience in analytics and/or quantitative modeling, using large datasets
