The Logistics Transactional Executive will have to ensure resolution of all finance related activities for both inbound and outbound logistics through stakeholders (Account Payable, Treasury, Banks, Suppliers and 3PLs) engagements and effective report management.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
Keep track and update all transactions (BFC & LC) for Leaf, wrapping materials and spares and communicates to relevant stakeholders to enable supplier engagements where necessary.
Communicates with suppliers to confirm pending payments of which original documents have been sent to their bank.
Engages treasury to ensure that due LC transactions with Original Shipping documents have instructions for payment sent to bank
Ensures Customs Duty Assessment is received for all inbound shipments not later than 20days after port exit and follows up with agents to close all assessment related issues with customs.
Processes all Assessments by preparing bulk journals for approval and raise corresponding Payment Request Forms (PRF) to Account Payable for Processing
Follows up on the various levels of approval to ensure the coded duty payments are approved and then posted by AP team.
Advises Banking Ops to make payments and ensures these are processed and sent to the respective banks for customs duty payments to be processed.
Follows up with banks to confirm duty payments and ensures that corresponding documents are sent to the various banks
Follows up to receive duty receipts from the various banks and sends them to all the clearing agents applicable for processing of Foreign Exchange Control Documents-FECD
Follows up with Agent to receive the FECD for submission to the respective banks
Follows up with treasury to ensure that due BFC payments with FECD are included in bimonthly payment run.
Ensures processed Invoices by Account Payable are correctly coded to their various cost centres.
Attends to payment queries from 3PLs and follow up to rectify any issue with Account Payable team
Follows up with treasury to ensure that due 3PL payments with issues are sorted before the next payment run
At the receipt of any pre-alert, ensures the tracker is updated to ensure no shipment is missed out as regards payment status
Constantly updates the tracker with necessary details to ensure prompt payment of suppliers and to foresee any challenge that might likely occur and make escalations where necessary.
Engages bank on any outstanding payments to know status and communicates same to supplier
Send correspondences to bank as regards revalidation of Form Ms, Bills etc to enable suppliers’ payments
Follows up with the bank to ensure that payments that are instructed are processed and communication made to relevant stakeholders
Follow up on other payments with bank as regards Inbound Related activities- SON Permit, Plant Import Permit, NAFDAC etc.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Bachelors degree in Science or Finance
At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, in a manufacturing environment
Excellent knowledge in importation process and import documentation
SAP System- Finance Module
Understanding of conditions that necessitates transactions to be part of the payment run
Good communication and interpersonal skills to be able to identify and solve problems
