About The Accounting Associate Role
As the Accounting Associate, you are responsible for all tactical and operational duties of the accounting function. This includes the preparation of accounting schedules, management reporting, statutory reporting, and internal and external stakeholder management.
Responsibilities:
Accounting Records and Financial Statements:
- Maintain proper accounting records.
- Prepare journal entries and post transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reconciliation reports in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and relevant accounting concepts and principles.
Support and Compliance:
- Support the Head of Accounting in budget preparation, annual reports, audits, etc.
- Review and confirm the correct tax computation, remittance, and engagement of stakeholders for tax receipts.
- Ensure timely preparation and transmission of regulatory filings and other external reports.
Expense Management and Reporting:
- Manage and report on petty cash and operational expenses within limits set by the Head of Accounting and Chief Operation Officer.
- Month-end closing activities like generating reports, and cut off activities on specific workdays (monthly, quarterly, annually).
- Preparation of standard management reports and any reports as may be required by management from time to time.
- Assist in the development and reporting of key performance metrics to help drive business productivity.
Reconciliation and Data Accuracy:
- Daily reconciliation for all payment processors for all products using source data.
- Ensure accuracy of all automated sources of data via frequent checks and reconciliations.
SOP Development and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Application of the principles of the accounting manuals and updates to the manuals are subject to the approval of the Head of Accounting.
- Development and update of Accounting SOPs.
- Engagement of internal stakeholders as required to fulfill responsibilities.
Requirements:
- BSC in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
- 2-4 years working as an Accountant.
- Professional certification or Part Qualification – (Professional level of ACA, ACCA is an added advantage).
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good knowledge of Accounting Software (Sage, Quickbooks, Microsoft Dynamics, etc).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Intermediate report writing skills.
- Basic presentation skills.

2. Senior Accounting Associate
About The Senior Accounting Associate Role
As a Senior Accounting Associate, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of the organization, focusing on financial statements, analysis, budgeting, auditing, forecasting, and relationship management. The successful candidate will oversee accounting associates, ensure compliance with tax regulations, and present financial information to internal and external stakeholders. You will report to the Head of Accounting.
Responsibilities
Financial statements and Analysis
- Preparation of monthly financial statements for all the entities.
- Preparation of consolidated financial statements for the group.
- Produce financial analysis and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including the leadership team, board of directors, investors, and strategic partners.
- Supervise the accounting associates in general accounting duties such as processing transactions, reconciliations, and closing the books.
- Ensure tax and statutory compliance (I.e VAT, PAYE) for the group with all government agencies, including FIRS, LIRS, etc.
Budgeting, Auditing, and Forecasting
- Prepare, consolidate, and monitor annual budgets and forecasts across the group, and report budget performance and variances to management.
- Assist in the drafting of the annual operating plan for the business functions and refresh the outlook for the year every quarter by working with the Products, Customer Finance, Marketing, and Growth teams.
- Identify, develop, and report on key performance metrics in tailored reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop accurate and timely cash flow projections based on historical data, current financial activities, and future business plans.
- Manage the year-end reporting and audit functions for the group.
Relationship Management
- Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners; represent the company to banks, financial partners, institutions, investors, public auditors, and officials.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
- 5-8 years experience in Accounting.
- Experience in financial services.
- Demonstrated interest in FinTech or alternative financial services operators, peculiarities, and nuances.
- Professional certifications (ACA, ACCA, ICAN, etc.) are desired.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent knowledge of accounting software (Sage, Quickbooks, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Experience in managing multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in engaging different groups of Regulators

About The Social Media Associate Role

You will help create, plan, and post content across all digital media networks. You will partner with cross-functional teams that have a track record of successfully building the Piggytech brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Social Media Channels Management: Manages company social media channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other relevant platforms.
- Presence Creation: Engages in social media presence creation on new and emerging social media platforms.
- Dynamic Content: Creates dynamic written, graphic, and video content.
- Audience Interaction: Creates content that promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence on company sites, and encourages audience participation.
- Project Management: Assists social media management with large projects, events, and community management.
- Social Media Campaign: Works as part of a team to develop social media and marketing campaigns.
- Reporting: Analyzes and reports audience information, demographics, and the success of existing social media projects.
